ESTREMADURA:
Estremadura is the Portuguese region with the largest wine production and vine area and it account for 23% of the Portuguese wine potential. It coversa large strip of land along the Atlantic coast from the Tagus estuary to Beira in the North and Ribatejo towards de inland. The hilly terrain, although neverabove 150m are mainly made of secondary formations of clay, limestone and sandstone soils. The climate is temperate with little seasonal variations and with an average rainfall between 600-700mm. The white wines are aromatic, fullflavoured with good lenght.The red wines are fresh,lively and well balanced.

 

 


 

Quinta das Ste Encostas

Denomination:
DOC.(Denominação de Origem Controlada )  

Ageing:
Maceration in contact with (submerged) cap for 28 days, partial ageing in 250 litres oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:
Extremely ripe and complex with a quite unique character of dark berry fruit with distinct notes of cinnamon and chocolate. In the palate, it is equally fruity, medium-bodied and with fine tannins. Very pleasant aftertaste with persistent notes of fruit jam.

Castelão (Periquita), Camarate, Tinta Miúda e em menor proporção Preto Martinho.

Quinta da Espiga

Denomination:
(VR) Vinho Regional Estremadura

Ageing:
Aged in new oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:
Combines concentrated dark cherry and blackcurrant flavours, as well as an agreeable pronounced acidity and some fine oak notes, ends with firm tannins and a fruity finish.

Red

Castelão (Periquita), Touriga Nacional, Syrah e Tinta Roriz
