ALENTEJO:
The winemaking in this vast region is concentrated in three main areas. Around Portalegre, east of Evora from Borba to Reguengos and around Vidigueira and Beja. Situated in Borba, the Adega Cooperativa de Borba C.R.L as never completely abandon the time honoured traditions of wine-making. Side by side with traditional vinification methods, advanced technologies are used with the sole aim of producing the very best. Indeed the Adega produces very fine full bodied and aromatic white wines and full-flavoured, soft red wines.

Tasting notes:
Colour of a young red with a fruity, smooth and warm bouquet confirming the fruits of its bouquet and with a persistent and well balanced final taste

Ageing:
Five days in stainless steel vats.

Tasting notes:
Ruby coloured with violet tones, bouquet of ripe fruit and preserves, smooth to the palate with good structure, a prolonged end and light astringency.Non filtered wine, subject to sediment.

Trincadeira, Aragonez and castelão.

 Aged in second year small oak barrels  

Tasting notes:
Good aromatic concentration. Intensely fruity, aroma of berries, cassis and preserves. Smooth tannins. Good balance between fruit, acidity, and tannin.

Tasting notes:
Deep in colour. Enormous concentration of aromas. Notes of jammy red fruit and spices. Potent and elegant. Solid, vigorous, with compact and well integrated tannins. Long and distinct finish. A wine for ageing.

Ripe fruit flavours with hints of cherry and plum and a faint spiciness. A big red with good structure and in the mouth the tannins are gently wrapped in the body of the wine.

Six months in wooden oak barrels and 3 months in bottle for final refining.

Tasting notes:
Limpid aspect, deep garnet color with red nuances.Rich aromatical intensity, with aromas of compote and jelly in perfect combination  with wooden tanning.Full boddy, persistent in the end of the tast, promising longevity and flavor.

Adega de Borba Reserva PT

Ageing:
This wine is aged for 12 months in new wooden casks (French, American oak and chestnut-tree) and finally reposed in bottle in cellar for another 12 months.

Tasting notes:
Intense aromas of well-matured red fruit as well as compote and sweet pepper. Smooth and elegant taste with flavours of forest fruit and notes of coffee and chocolate, in a fine structure and long finish.
