DÃO:
Dão is one of Portugal's main quality wine producing regions, geographically situated in the heart of Central Portugal. The countryside is remote, moutainous and picturesque. Inside this girdle of mountains lies a hilly region of granite soil and pine forests. Many of the vineyards in the hilliest regions were literally carved out of the same granite used to build the pictoresque Dão villages. This region produces mainly red wine and a tremendous pride is put on the wine making. Dão is a vintage wine and may only be made from the grapes of the year stated. The reds are full bodied with an intense bouquet and notes of ripened fruit. The whites are slightly fruity, fresh and with a floral bouquet
